Multiple Teams · Boys and Girls Water Polo Win, Move into Semifinals

The boys were seeded 4th and played #5 seed Bullard, while the girls were seeded 5th and played #4 seed Exeter… Both GW teams were victorious.

The boys coasted to an easy 17-9 win over the Bullard Knights. They will now travel to Clovis on Wednesday (Nov. 17 at 5:30pm) to face off against the #1 seeded Buchanan team. Déjà vu? Can history repeat itself?

Many of you may remember something just like this happening last year. The 2015 boys water polo team, just like this year, was seeded #4 and beat #5 seed. They then had to face off against #1 seed Buchanan. Last year, they were able to knock off the Bears and become the first non-Clovis team in 21 years to make it to the CIF Division I Water Polo Finals. Can our 2016 boys water polo do it again? Come out to the game on Wednesday (it’s at Buchanan HS at 5:30pm) and cheer them onto VICTORY!

The girls game was a little more intense. After numerous lead changes, neither GW nor Exeter could get the upper hand on the other and the game ended in a tie. It took two overtime periods for the Trailblazers to ultimately upset the upper-seeded Exeter Monarchs. The girls will now face off against the #1 seeded El Diamante Miners on Wednesday at 6pm at EDHS. Come out and help us cheer the girls onto VICTORY!
