Trailblazers News · GWHS Football Makes History

On Friday night, under the lights of Groppetti Automotive Visalia Community Stadium, the Trailblazer (D IV#1 seed) beat the CVC Cavaliers (D IV#2 seed) 27-21 in a nail bitter overtime game. Golden West opened in 1979 and this was the first time in school history that the GW football team made a trip to the Section Championship game. There were many lead changes throughout the game and at the end of regulation time, the game was still undecided at 21-21. In the end, it was senior running back Gonzalo Rodriguez who punched through end zone in a 16 yard run to give the Trailblazers a 27-21 victory. HISTORY WAS MADE!

Congratulations to the GWHS football team… you make us proud to be called Trailblazers!!!
