GW Girls Soccer Shutout Redwood

Golden West 1, Redwood 0: The Trailblazers remained perfect in WYL action with a win over the Rangers at Golden West. Jennifer Saavedra scored the match’s lone goal in the eighth minute off an assist from Samantha Blair. Amanda Nuckols and Megan Robaina combined for seven saves to post the shutout for Golden West (7-7-2, 4-0).

The varsity boys defeated Bullard 2-0 on Monday night. Golden West received goals from Arnulfo Cisneros and Christian Ibarra. The JV boys defeated Bullard 4-0. The Trailblazers had three different players contribute goals on the night. Ricardo Avila and Ricardo Velasquez recorded a goal apiece, while Enrique Ibarra added two goals of his own.

Trailblazers sweep the Vikings in their pre-season contest on Tuesday. The Frosh, JV’s, and Varsity came away with big wins against Kingsburg. When it comes to having  school spirit, Golden West High School is tough to match.  The Trailblazer Pride is something that surprises many spectators.  As demonstrated at our Semi-final Water Polo game vs Redwood on Wednesday, Nov. 20, fans witnessed the Blazer Pride as approximately 50 students entered the game to root on their team.
