Blazer Buddies, a group of special needs students at Golden West, have done a fantastic job in bringing students together. The Blazer Buddies have a club that invites students to come and get to know each other through lunch meetings, fun activities, and frequent parties. Leading the scoring for the GW girls were Jessica Mathias with 14 points, Jordyn Street scored nine points, and Destinee Garcia chipped in with seven points for Golden West (9-11, 3-4).

The lady Blazer basketball team won their season opener against Strathmore 49-32. Jordyn Street scored 28 points to lead the scoring. Destinee Garcia scored 9 points and Natalie Wills scored 5 points. The girls next play in Kingsburg today.
